Le Boat is Europe’s No. 1 boating holiday company, offering canal boat rental across Europe. Le Boat wanted to improve the digital offering to their customers, by providing a more interactive experience for them, whilst cruising along the river ways of Europe.

Le Boat wanted to create a minimum viable product which would be available for the start of their peak season. To achieve this delivery date, their go-to-market strategy was extremely tight, allowing for only 3-4 weeks of research and ideation, followed by the development phase.

The beginning of the new season would be spent reviewing customer feedback, and conducting further research to compile a list of requirements and user stories for phase two of the project.

The Ideation process

  1. Scenario stories were created for each of the Le Boat customer personas. Each story detailed functionality within the app based on the research gathered.
  2. Concept storyboards were then designed to help illustrate these scenarios.
  3. The storyboards were then tested with customers to prioritise the functionality for development.
